Course Entry Requirements
Certificate Level - QCA Level 3
('A' Level standard) No formal qualifications are required but applicants should demonstrate competence in English by the attainment of one of the following:
• British Council - Intermediate Certificate in English/Upper Advanced Certificate in English
• LCCI - English for Business (EFB) 1st or 2nd level
• Pitman/City & Guilds - English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)/ English for Business
Degree Year 1 - QCA Level 5
(Diploma Level)
Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
• ABE Certificate
• Two "A" Level passes plus four GCSE passes at Grade A, B or C, two of which must be English & Maths
• Overseas qualifications which may be accepted by the Registrar as being equivalent to the above
Non-academic entry:
• ABE also welcomes applications from candidates without formal qualifications who have been in appropriate employment for at least two years. A reference letter from employer(s) must accompany such applications.
Degree Year 2 - QCA Level 6
(Advanced Diploma Level)
Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
• ABE Diploma
• A UK Honours Degree or Overseas equivalent
• Other recognised qualifications of approved Overseas Institutes of Higher Education
Post Graduate Diploma – QCA Level 7
(MBA Level)
A student must fulfill at least one of the following criteria to be allowed entry to the program:
• An ABE Advanced Diploma in Business Management or Business Administration (note that a student may progress to the Postgraduate Diploma if he/she has one unit of the Advanced Diploma yet to be passed, but cannot be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma until subsequently passing the remaining unit)
• An ABE Advanced Diploma in another subject (subject to further study requirements)
• A UK Honours degree in a related subject
• A level 6 qualification from another internationally recognised awarding body
• Five years senior management experience.
All Candidates must demonstrate they have English Language at either IELTS 5.0 (min), or prove they have studied English in their home country at Senior School level or studied to a suitable level at a UK or overseas College.

The Method of Assessment for ABE subjects up to PG Dip level is by written examination. Exams are held in June and December. All PG Dip units require two pieces of assessed work:
• an examination (marked externally by ABE); and
• an assignment (marked internally by the college or by Business Education Associates and moderated by ABE)
To pass the PG Dip unit requires a pass mark of 40% or above in both pieces of assessed work.

All examinations fees are to be paid by the student, direct to ABE. Their current list of exam fees is available from www.abeuk.com. The decision of the ABE Council as to the suitability of any candidate will be final.
